Bio and Education

Biography

The daughter of two music teachers, I have been involved in the performing arts from a young age. I started flute lessons when I was 7 years old, and continued as a “band and orchestra geek” through high school, participating in MMEA Districts and the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire.

I received a B.A. in Music Performance, Flute (and a B.A. in Spanish) from the joint music program at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, Ohio. There I studied with Mary Kay Robinson and performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, University Circle Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Music, and Case Concert Choir. I also studied voice, theatre, and ballet, and took piano lessons - the last mostly to help with my Music Theory classes. When home in Boston for the summers, I studied flute with Lisa Hennessy.

During my undergrad, I decided I wanted to work from within orchestras and other performing arts organizations to help make this amazing art accessible and relevant to all. With this in mind, I completed my M.S. in Arts Administration and Graduate Certificate in Fundraising Management from Boston University.

I currently work full-time as the Director of Development and Operations at Friends of the Jerusalem Youth Chorus and part-time as the Executive Director of the Watertown Business Coalition. I live in Watertown, MA with my rescued Pitbull, Chewbacca. When not doing arts-related things, I’m an avid equestrian, a bookworm, and an outdoor enthusiast.
